ARTIST IN RESIDENCY

This program aims to bring emerging & established Kachin media makers out of their geographically isolated homeland for a three month residency with access to international advisors ready to help them with their projects. The residency program includes a comfortable space for living & working in Chiang Mai, Thailand.   

These projects are either; editing a film, writing a screenplay, editing a large body of work or creating a photo book.

With more support Sakse for this important project. We would like to add food & transportation stipend which will allow a much wider and more diverse group of artists to join.

For four artists to do this residency in one year is would cost under 5,000 USD and would have a huge impact of the quality & quantity of media coming out of Kachin.

Producer - Living Films

After starting out as an Assistant Director on Hollywood feature films such as Gus Van Sant’s My Own Private Idaho and Oliver Stone’s Heaven and Earth, Chris moved to Thailand in 1992 and soon after started the production company Living Films.

First as Production Manager and then Producer, Chris has completed over thirty five feature films and Television series in Thailand working with such artists as Jackie Chan on “The Medallion”, Matt Dillon on “City of Ghosts”, Nicolas Cage on “Bangkok Dangerous”, John Cusack, Gong Li and Chow Yun Fat on the epic period film “Shanghai”, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and the rest of the cast of “The Hangover Part II”, and Owen Wilson, Pierce Brosnan and Lake Bell on “No Escape.”

With the consistency of having produced successful feature films each and every year, Chris expanded Living Films into one of the top production houses in South East Asia; gaining a reputation for integrity and experience. According to a recent report by The Thailand Film Office, Living Films had been the top production company in Thailand for 5 years running.

Most recently, Chris completed work as Co-Producer of “Gold” starring Matthew McConaughey.
