We’re always looking for researchers, advisors and volunteers to help out in anyway they can. Over the course of our works we’ve had over 200 volunteers. We have a lot of projects so we can always find a use for your skills. This can be either online or in person.

We have accepted interns from around the globe. At Sakse Interns are given real projects which they can shape and grow with in terms of skills & confidence.  Interns will be carefully screened and can apply as video editor, social media manager, NGO manager, communications & more

Intern FAQ
Q – About how much will it cost for food and accommodation during my internship?

A – Long-term guesthouses and apartments are very reasonable in Chiang Mai. Our interns have paid between 135  to 160 Euros a month for furnished flats. Food is also cheap – you eat at delicious local places for two Euros or less per meal.

Q – Do I need to book an apartment before I arrive?

A – Most of our interns stay at a guest house for a few days while they find an apartment. There are lots available, so pre-booking isn’t really necessary. Many of our past interns have stayed in the Nimmanheiman area or near the studio in Wulai. Others have found housing in the Santitham neighborhood.

Q – What's the difference between an intern and a volunteer?

A – Interns typically pursue a 3-6 month internship and are connected to an educational instution. Details and commitments often depend on requirements of the institution. Those who are not tied to an educational institution are still welcome to apply for internships. Volunteering can be anything from a single day to multi-year invovlement.

Q – Do I need a visa?

A – Those interning at Sakse for at least 3 months are eligible for a volunteer visa through Sakse. At the 3 month mark, interns will need to leave and re-enter Thailand to receive a new visa. At this time, Sakse is unable to cover the costs of visa applications.

Q – What can I expect to get out of a Sakse internship?

A – Interns can participate in workshops free of charge, utilize the film screening space for personal use with friends, and network with regional art, design, development work, and social enterprise sectors. Sakse partners with a large network of international and regional photography/media organizations that past interns have colloborated and worked with on their own independent projects.

Q – Will I be able to develop my own artist portfolio?

A – The majority of intern positions are oriented around organizing for and supporting other artists. For those who wish to advance their own skills and artist portfolios, ample feedback and guidance will be given by the director and possibly outside advisors.

Q – What are the local transport options?

Many past interns have opted to rent motorbikes for around 2500 baht/month (70 Euros). It is recommended to get an international license before arriving in Thailand. Local rideshare options are relatively cheap for getting around the city, usually costing around 2-10 Euros per ride, depending on distance. Chiang Mai can be navigated quite easily by bicycle as well.

Sakse is looking to improve & expand all our services. To do this we are building a team.
